Are You Creating Amazing Experiences for Your Customers?

Results from a new survey from Accenture and Retail Dive shows that 31% of Americans would be willing to pay more money for their goods and services due to exceptional shopping experience. Worldwide that number jumps to 47%! That means that nearly half of consumers are seeking out an exceptional shopping experience when they go out to shop. So is your business ready to exceed those expectations?

Here’s a few questions to ask yourself

Are my team members equipped to provide exceptional service?

As a business owner, are you properly training your team members to be courteous, insightful, kind and leadership focused? You want to hire employees that are as motivated by the bottom line as you are! That means opening the shop early or staying late for customers or providing generous service when an issue arrives. Are your employees greeting every customer, memorizing names and/or regular food orders and super serving their needs (even when it has nothing to do with your business)?

Are you memorable?

Do you work hard to make sure that the goods you sell or food you serve are something worth writing home about or are you just another place that sells the same stuff in your community? Are you going the extra mile to seek out what your community needs and delivering it with all the bells and whistles? Maybe you have something memorable about your business, like every cup of coffee comes with a free cookie or every kid gets free stickers or candy. Give your customers reasons to keep coming back.

Are You Up on Trends?

In the fast-paced internet world, there’s lots of new ways you can continue to serve your customers better. Services like online-ordering with store pickup or online registries are a MUST for customers who are busy but ready to buy. If you’re a restaurant, consider using a delivery service for your food to expand your sales opportunities. You could even try a drive up delivery like big box stores. Ask customers to order online and call the store when you arrive and have employees deliver! It’s a great bonus for busy moms with kids in carseats. In store, make sure you are setup to offer Apple pay, chip readers and other new payment systems as well. Products like Support Local also help you engage with your customers with exciting offers and show your generous side through SnapShop donations.

Do You Have an Online Presence?

Social media is the perfect way to engage your customers with your personality. Ultimately, your store is about you and your lifestyle so spend some time in front of the camera and connecting with your customers. Answer questions, messages and texts. Keep engagement up at all times. This is the stuff that gets your customers out of the house and coming in to buy.
