Start a Review Mob

Review websites and the reviews they hold are a dime a dozen these days. However, what you may not know is how important it is for a local business to have reviews. Whether we all like them or not, search algorithms, maps and other web-based platforms have built their functionality with reviews in mind. From Yelp to facebook to Trip Advisor and Google, those stars are important to getting businesses lifted on their platforms. While they may not live or die by them, they do play a part in customer decision making.

However, all too often, too many businesses in small towns don’t have many reviews to help them get noticed. That’s where you come in! You don’t have to be a well-spoken critic, just a fan of your community. Give honest reviews, try to only do positive ones of course–once a month or so. You can bet that every business reads them and will appreciate your review! So, next time you find you and your friends sitting around browsing instagram in the same room organize a little review mob and start handing out 5-star reviews to every business you can think of in your town.
